Local man makes box guitar for Mumford and Sons

A man who makes guitars as a hobby has built three custom cigar box guitars to give to Mumford and Sons at their upcoming concert in Troy.

Mitch Barhorst, of Minister, said the guitars play and some are even electric. One of the guitars going to Mumford and Sons is a combination banjo and dulcimer called the dulci-jo.

Barhorst said he will have a guitar pix in his pocket Saturday night at the Troy concert in hopes the band will call him up on stage.

The “Gentlemen of the Road Stopover” concert will be held at Troy Memorial Stadium this weekend.
