Ohio Army National Guard soldiers will return home after a nearly year-long deployment as part of the Columbus-based 174th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, the service branch says.
Thirty-five soldiers will have a public homecoming ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Road in Reynoldsburg.
The unit deployed to the Washington, D.C., region as part of Operation Noble Eagle.
Unit soldiers have deployed four times since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. On its most recent mission, the soldiers had oversight of radar, ground-based air defense systems and communications equipment, the Army Guard said.
