“He has shown the most character and would make a great president.”
Drew Howe: He also voted for Kasich, saying he liked what the Ohio governor stood for.
“I like his politics in general.”
Chris Lough: He voted for Donald Trump, noting he liked that billionaire businessman is not a career politician. He said he was concerned about illegal immigration, and believes Trump is the most likely candidate to improve security along the U.S. border with Mexico.
“Our economy doesn’t have enough money as it is,” Lough said.
Sharetha Marshall: She said stopping violence, improving education and adding more jobs to the economy are issues she wants her presidential candidate to address. That's why she voted for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
“She’s doing the most to address these issues,” Marshall said.
Elizabeth Makiewicz: She said she voted for Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton's remaining opponent.
“He’s not in the political mainstream like the other candidates. I think he will make a difference.”
Haneed Shwehdi: She said the troubling comments made by Trump turned her vote to Sanders.
“I feel Sanders is really honest and Donald Trump has said some mean things about Muslims.”
Fran Moyer: He said in this important election with serious issues, he supported Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.
“I think he has vast knowledge of all our issues and foreign policy,”Moyer said. “He seems to be a level headed person.”
Richard Shane: Moments before he cast his vote, he said he was still undecided. He noted the campaign was one of the most vicious he has ever seen.
“It’s just nasty. I have never seen anything like this and I still don’t know who I am voting for.”
Tom Coderre: He had not decided which candidate is best suited to be president, given that the election has been polarizing.
“It is tough to choose a candidate this year. But I will vote, because it is my duty.”
