4th of July fireworks still on in Springboro; some concerts canceled

Springboro’s annual 4th of July fireworks display is still on this year and will take place at Springboro High School.

As the coronavirus pandemic stretches on, many communities are being forced to make a decision about 4th of July celebrations and fireworks.

More detail’s about the city’s fireworks display will be released at a later date.

Springboro canceled the first three concerts for its summer series scheduled for June 26, July 3 and July 7.

Concerts are typically held every Tuesday and Friday through July 31.

The city will consider the concerts on a week-by-week basis and give each band a 30-day notice as to whether the performance will continue or not.

The concerts will proceed once Gov. Mike DeWine’s administration gives the green light. The city will make sure to open the amphitheater in a way that is safe and healthy for performers, staff and guests.

The third annual Boro BBQ has been rescheduled to Oct. 3 at North Park.

The city is looking for new dates for Touch a Truck and Doggie Days.
