Completed last week for an undisclosed sum, the acquisition allows Advantage RN to expand geographically and penetrate new markets, according to Jeff Klank, the company’s chief financial officer.
“We are not presently serving the on call, government services, mental health and allied and therapy areas on the West Coast and the Southwest,” Klank said. “This acquisition offers tremendous growth potential for our company.”
The acquisition also means Advantage RN will expand its 75-person workforce at 8892 Beckett Road by an additional 10 employees within the next 90 days, Klank said.
Further acquisitions this year are possible, he said.
“We’re always interested in good opportunities, so I wouldn’t rule it out,” he said. “If there were other companies in the local area, we’d certainly be interested.”
PHS Staffing’s focus on per diem staffing, along with its experience in government and Allied contracting, is a valuable addition to Advantage’s service offerings, according to Matt Price, Advantage RN’s president and CEO.
“Their strong presence in the Western states will further expand our Advantage On Call per diem staffing efforts while strengthening our ability to meet the changing staffing needs of medical facilities and job seekers across the country,” Price said.
Founded in 2003, Advantage RN serves more than 400 health care facilities nationwide with more than 500 traveling temporary health care professionals and 90 internal employees in offices located in Ohio; Charlotte, N.C.; Clearwater and Delray Beach, Fla.; San Diego, Calif.; and Sheridan, Wyo.
Founded in Las Vegas in 2005, PHS Staffing is a former division of Premier Healthcare Services. The company manages more than 200 health care providers in addition to 45 internal employees from its San Diego headquarters.
PHS Staffing has achieved nearly a 40 percent average growth rate over the past three years, according to PHS Vice President Dan Gutierrez.
