Apartment fire spreads after balcony ignites in Beavercreek

A balcony caught fire and the flames eventually spread into the walls of several apartments at the Lakes of Beavercreek apartment complex Friday night.

The apartment fire was reported in the 300 block of Reed Road around 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters said three apartments were damaged as a result of the fire, which resulted in no injuries to any residents at the complex.

An initial investigation revealed a fire started on a second-story porch, firefighters said.

No immediate word was available on damage estimates or if the residents would be able to return to their homes.

The fire remains under investigation.
