“During tough economic times, when the ability to take a family vacation is not always an easy option, the (city) offers a multitude of parks, facilities and programs that allow families to get out and play right here in Miamisburg,” she said, adding that a family of four can attend the center for less than $10.
The parks department also is encouraging additional play campaign events, including a Sunday evening concert series in Library Park, family fun night at the aquatic center Aug. 14, and its free traveling playground crew program.
In the traveling playground, a program in partnership with the Dayton Power & Light Foundation, city parks and recreation staff since mid-June have been going to area parks throughout the Miami Valley and leading children in large and small group games, arts and craft activities.
The Aquatic Center has eight competitive/fitness swimming lanes, interactive water features, a one meter diving board, two sand volleyball courts and a sand play area for children.
