The Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta is gearing up for a big celebration that is still years away.

It is the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon in 1969. Even though the celebration won’t take place until 2019, the museum has already started planning for it.

State lawmakers are preparing to release $900,000 for an expansion and new exhibits at the museum. The total budget for the project is $3 million.
