HAMILTON — Badin High School English teacher Greg Renneker, a highly regarded member of the faculty for 41 years and a 1964 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High, is being honored Friday night as the grand marshal of the Badin High School homecoming parade.
The homecoming parade will follow a new route this year, starting at 6 p.m. from the corner of Park and D streets on the city’s west side, traveling up Park and turning right on Eaton Avenue to get to Hamilton High’s Virgil Schwarm Stadium, said Badin spokesman Dirk Allen.
Skydivers, which will include Badin senior Andrew Rieder, will jump in at 7:10 p.m., prior to Badin hosting Purcell Marian for the homecoming 2010 football game.
Lisa Fetters, the 2009 queen, will be on hand to crown her successor at half-time.
This will be the first time in the 45-year history of Badin that there will be a homecoming king crowned as well as a homecoming queen, Allen said.
“These extra touches are fun. They’re what help make the event special,” said Kay Collins, co-moderator of Badin’s Student Council, which organizes the annyal homecoming event.
“The sky divers, adding a king to the court, all of this will make for a memorable weekend.”
Saturday night’s homecoming dance is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Badin’s Mulcahey Gym. “A Night in Hollywood” is this year’s theme.
