As Wright-Patterson Air Force Base continues to work, Col. Thomas P. Sherman, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, wanted to honor the hard work various Airmen, both civilian and military, have been doing around the base to help keep things going. Sherman gave out some of his own challenge coins to various member of the 88th Civil Engineer Squadron.
Challenge coins have a long history in the Air Force, awarded to those who go above and beyond in their work, with some being numbered since the number that can be given out are limited.
Sherman awarded several 88th ABW challenge coins to CE personnel, thanking them for their continuing work under COVID conditions.
