A brick apartment building in the complex was engulfed when fire crews arrived on the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
The fire comes as the community works to cleanup after an EF4 tornado hit Monday night. The building had not been damaged in the tornado. It had been without electricity and water until Friday, said Marquita Atwater, 31, who lives in an apartment across the street from the one that was on fire.
