KETTERING

Flashlight Easter egg hunt set

A family Easter egg flashlight hunt will be held from 8 to 9 p.m. April 7-9 at the Lathrem Senior Center, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

This is geared toward kids three years and older. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Space is limited and registration is required.

The event starts with a craft, and eggs will be collected and turned in for prizes and candy. A light snack will be provided after the hunt.

The cost is $3 for residents and $5 for nonresidents.

Comic book studio day at Rosewood

Comic book studio day will be held as a series of three workshops on April 8 at the Rosewood Arts Centre, 2655 Olson Drive.

The 90-minute workshops will start at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Professional illustrators and writers will teach the basics of comic book creation. This is geared toward kids ages 10 to 16 years old.

The cost is $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents. The cost for all three workshops is $50 for residents and $60 for nonresidents.

Space program geared toward families

Monthly Special Family Event: Outer Space will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. April 15 at Wright Memorial Public Library, 1776 Far Hills Ave.

This drop in program will feature play stations and learning activities for kids in preschool through third grade.

Super service Saturday set for April 15

Super service Saturday will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15, and is free for Washington Twp. and Centerville residents.

Document shredding will be available at the Public Works Building, 8190 McEwen Road. Up to 12 grocery-size bags of credit cards, CDs, paper, tapes, etc., will be accepted. There will also be information about identity theft.

Child safety seat checks will also be available. Walk ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. The checks will be conducted at Fire Station 45, 8328 McEwen Road.

Prescription drugs can also be dropped off at Fire Station 45. All medications, and needles in an approved Sharps container, will be accepted. No illegal substances will be taken.
