Plant sale May 20

The Saville Hilltoppers Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on May 20, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. It will be held at 839 Silverleaf Dr. The Saville Hilltoppers meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month and are currently welcoming new members. RiverScape River Run grand opening May 5

On May 5, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at RiverScape MetroPark.the James M. Cox RiverScape River Run will celebrate its grand opening. The entrance to the River Run is near Monument Ave. and Jefferson St.

After the ceremony come over to RiverScape Pavilion for Pickin’ in the Park from 5:30-10 p.m. featuring progressive blue grass music, food from a variety of food trucks and craft beer.

Employment readiness training April 29

On April 29, from 9-11 a.m., employment readiness training will be offered at the Youth Resource Center, 1133 South Edwin C. Moses Blvd.

This three-part intensive training will assist in searching for jobs, creating a resume, and preparing for interviews.

The Youth Resource Center is available for all Montgomery County young people ages 14 through 24.

City beautiful nominations accepted

Nominations are being accepted for the Dayton City Beautiful Award. The award encourages and recognizes civic pride by acknowledging property owners/occupants who devote extra effort to property beautification and maintenance. Honorees receive a certificate of award presented at a city commission meeting, a yard sign for display, and recognition in city communications. Properties must meet one or more of the following criteria: aesthetic appeal; landscaping (design, color, balance); architectural design and placement; landscape and building maintenance; treatment of parking areas; preservation of trees and natural amenities; awareness of ordinances and city codes; appropriate placement/design of new construction; use of paint to complement buildings; enhancement of overall appearance of the area; or removal of blight.

Tea with the Girls May 6

On May 6 from 1-3:30 p.m., the Pink Ladies and the Pink Ribbon Girls are presenting Tea with the Girls at the Leiber Center, 545 Upper Lewisburg Salem Road. The event is $20 per person and includes tea, snacks, dessert and a gift. There will also be music speakers and an afternoon of girly fun.
