City of Brookville officials say they are right on schedule with the Arlington Bridge construction that had started in March.

Arlington Bridge is located over Interstate 70 and has been closed since March 5 to reconstruct the bridge. The bridge is slated to reopen to traffic in August with final completion in late September, according to City Manager Gary Burkholder.

Brumbaugh Construction was awarded the contract in the amount of $5.3 million. The bridge is being upgraded from two to three lanes, paid for by The Ohio Department of Transportation.

Additional costs of the bridge have been paid for by the city and a grant. To date, the city has contributed $205,419 in matching funds to upgrade lighting and piers at the corners of the bridge.

Brookville received a Transportation Alternatives Grant for $320,000 through the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission that covers 70 percent of the lighting costs.
