Eight horses will be harnessed and hitched to a Budweiser beer wagon, beginning at 3 p.m. today, at the racino on Ohio 63, just east of Interstate 75.
Local families who have lost a family member on military duty will be honored during festivities to begin at 6:30 p.m. Melissa Jenkins, wife of Staff Sgt. Phillip C. Jenkins, will be presented a flag and take a ceremonial ride around the track pulled by the Clydesdales.
Jim and Kim Robinson of Monroe, parents of Jimmy Robinson; Dave and Dawn Spencer of Middletown, parents of Billy Spencer; Rhonda Isaacs of Hamilton, sister of Ricky Lee McGinnis; will also be recognized.
A professional skydiving Team and K99.1FM are to participate in festivities.
On Friday, the horses will return to the track at 6:30 p.m. to escort police officers and firefighters from Franklin, Fairfield, Hamilton, Lebanon, Middletown and Trenton around the track. The Warren County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will present the colors during the National Anthem.
On Saturday, the Clydesdales are be available for photos from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. before heading to Cincinnati for the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade on Monday.
