At 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, Butler County EMA Director Jeff Galloway will install the new system at the Butler County Sheriff Dispatch Center on Hanover Street, according to an EMA news release.
Galloway has already installed the system at dispatch centers in the cities of Middletown and Hamilton and West Chester Twp. In October, he will install the program in the remaining county dispatch centers located in Fairfield, Oxford, Monroe and Trenton.
In the past, dispatch centers relied on television weather updates. However, the dispatch centers watched different channels and sometimes received conflicting messages. This new system will ensure that all centers are receiving the same weather updates.
Weathertap.com is also available for residential use. If residents would like to receive Weathertap radar in their homes, they can purchase the web-based service for about $70 per year.
