Camden man identified in motorcycle fatality

WAYNE TWP. — A Camden man died late Wednesday night following a motorcycle accident in the 3100 block of Middletown-Eaton Road, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Douglas Rhodus, 43, of Camden was driving a 1999 Harley Davidson north on Ohio 122, Middletown-Eaton Road near the Butler County-Preble County line around 5:40 p.m. when he veered off the right side of the roadway striking a road sign, sheriff’s deputies said.

Rhodus was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash is still unknown at this time, and remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.

Funeral services are being handled by Barnes Funeral Home in Camden.
