DP&L restores power to customers after car crashes into pole in Dayton

UPDATE @ 2:48 p.m. (Nov. 25):

Power was restored to the customers who lost their power after a car crashed into a pole in Dayton, according to the DP&L outage map.

UPDATE @ 11:59 p.m.:

Only 22 DP&L customers remain without power after the car crash in the 400 block of Xenia Avenue, according to the DP&L outage map.

UPDATE @ 11:10 p.m.:

There are 249 DP&L customers left without power after a car crashed into a pole Saturday night, according to the DP&L outage map.

775 DP&L customers have been restored within the last two hours.

UPDATE @ 9:20 p.m.:

DP&L has restored 92 customers’ power after a car crashed into a pole Saturday night causing downed wires, according to DP&L Representative Kevin Hall.

1,109 power outages are due to the crash in the 400 block of Xenia Avenue, said Hall.

DP&L will continue to make the scene safe and to restore as many of the outages as they can.

FIRST REPORT:

A car crashed into a pole causing it to fall down Saturday night in the 400 block of Xenia Avenue.

Crews responded to the downed pole with wires sparking around 8:20 p.m., according to Montgomery County dispatch.

DP&L has been advised of the downed wires and RTA has been advised of the downed pole, but their arrival time is unknown.

According to the DP&L outage map, 1,116 Montgomery County customers are without power, but it’s unknown if all outages are due to the downed wires.
