Driver cited after crashing into, severely damaging former Dayton restaurant

The driver who crashed into a building that was formerly ‘Big Daddy’s Fish & Chicken’ Friday morning will be cited for failure to control, authorities said.

Crews were dispatched to the 1900 block of North Main Street after the vehicle crashed into the now vacant structure around 3 a.m.

The driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was not injured in the wreck.

Officials say speed and weather played a role in the crash.

The building and the car suffered significant damage as a result. Damage estimates were not immediately available.
