Car destroyed in Troy fire

A car was destroyed on East Loy Road, but not before the heat and flames damaged another vehicle and scorched a nearby detached garage.

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported around 3:15 a.m.

Deputies said the fire was not considered suspicious.

Officials said the owner of the vehicle had returned home from work around midnight, but heard banging noises around 3:15 a.m. and came outside to discover the car on fire.

The fire was believed to have started because of an issue in the engine, officials said.
