Car strikes, splits utility pole on Bellbrook Avenue, local residents without power

UPDATE @ 7:48 a.m.:

After an outage for over 1,800 people, power has been restored to the area around Bellbrook Avenue.

UPDATE @ 1:50 a.m.:

Officers shut off power to the area around Bellbrook Avenue in Xenia after a car struck and split a utility pole.

The DP&L outage map shows that 230 people are currently without power.

A local resident reported that the driver of the vehicle appeared drunk when he was pulled from the car.

Our crew on the scene reported that there was no ambulance present at the crash and no injuries have been reported.

INITIAL REPORT:

A car reportedly struck a utility pole on Bellbrook Avenue, splitting it in half.

The crash was reported around 1 a.m.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

Bellbrook Avenue is closed as crews clean up the scene.

It is unclear whether there are any injuries at this time.
