Firm launches 3-D Web product
FRANKLIN — Designing Digitally Inc. of Franklin this week launched 3D Virtual Campus Tours, said Abby Hughes, who owns Designing Digitally with her husband, Andrew Hughes.
The company has eight employees, plus additional freelancers, Abby Hughes said.
Andrew Hughes started freelance web design and development in 2001, Abby Hughes said. It led them to form the company, which now has eight employees and additional freelancers. At first the work was mostly geared to virtual world development for university campus tours and corporate conferences, she said.
Most of their virtual world development was offered through client-based programs such as Second Life that required the client to download the program to their computer and login. But tThe Air Force Academy project was the company’s first fully-based web virtual tour, she said.
A web-based tour is accessed online and can be customized through 3D Virtual Campus Tours, which allows potential students to peruse campuses online via interactive tours or to sign up for live tours with admissions representatives.
Designing Digitally also offers website design, e-learning and training simulations.
