Centerville Doubleday’s restaurant to move to new location

The owners of Doubleday’s said they are planning to move their Centerville restaurant to a new location.

Co-owner Steve Thomas told News Center 7’s James Brown the move will be right across the parking lot to the spot that used to house the Outback Steakhouse at Cross Point Shopping Center.

The Thomas family opened the restaurant on East Alex Bell Road in 1989.

“We have outgrown the space,” Thomas said.

The restaurant’s success is attributed to customer loyalty he said.

The paperwork for the new location was just signed recently and construction is already underway.

“The new place has a kitchen almost double the size Doubleday’s has now,” Thomas told News Center 7.

More than 200 people will be able to be seated in the new location.

The restaurant also is planning new food delivery to residents at the Allure apartments behind Cross Point Shopping Center.

An opening date for the new location has not yet been announced.

The family also owns a second location in Springboro.
