Centerville police officer wins at police, fire games

Centerville Police Officer Michael Yoder returned from the World Police & Fire Games held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Aug. 1-2, with a bronze medal.

Yoder competed against athletes from Russia, Spain, Romania, Vancouver, Croatia and Austria, to take third place in the two-day decathlon.

The decathlon’s first day included: 100 meter run, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400 meter run. The second day included 110 meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1,500 meter run.

Yoder’s participation was made possible by a generous gift from Complete PetMart and VFW Post 2800.
