The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office told News Center 7 Reporter Lauren Clark a detective did not see anything warranting criminal charges after a video of the alleged abuse was reviewed.
Danika Stroud said she witnessed the now former employee “pinching, twisting, pulling” and verbally abusing her two-year-old son at the daycare August 13.
Stroud said she reviewed the surveillance video with the owner of the daycare that reportedly showed the former employee slapping her toddler as well.
Young Dimensions Daycare owner, Keyona White, said she is glad to have her business’ name cleared.
“Honestly, I’m not concerned because everybody that knows me knows I love all the kids. When these kids come into my center, they are cared for as if they’re my own,” said White.
The former employee who will not be charged is still fired, said White.
Young Dimensions Daycare was asked to improve its background check requirements after the state’s most recent inspection three months ago, according to the state’s database records.
One parent reached out to our newsroom telling us she withdrew her child from the daycare because she was not confident in the level of care there.
