Clayton police need public’s help to identify two car theft suspects

The Clayton Police Department needs the public’s help to find two car theft suspects that left from Dollar General located at 8126 N. Main Street on July 15 around 1:45 p.m.

Two males entered the store, and less than two minutes later, the suspects exit the store without making a purchase.

The suspects were last seen walking towards a 2017 black Jeep Compass, which was stolen from the location.

The vehicle was recovered shortly after near the intersection of Melody Drive and Priscilla Avenue.

One male has short light brown hair, wearing a red horizontal striped tank top with a black pocket, blue and white plaid shorts, black socks, and black/white Converse Chuck Taylor style shoes. He was also wearing a single-strap backpack, a watch on his left wrist, and an EHDP (house arrest) ankle bracelet on his right ankle.

The second male has dark brown hair and a short beard, wearing a white t-shirt with khaki cargo style shorts and black/white athletic shoes. He was also wearing a longer chain necklace.
