Competency test ordered in Burks death case

The trial of a man accused of killing his mother has been pushed back while the defendant’s competency for trial is established.

Ryan Dillon, 25, is charged with aggravated murder, two counts of murder, one count of receiving stolen property and one count of tempering with evidence in the death of his 59-year-old mother Vicky Burks. Her body was found May 9 in her home, 5904 Middle Urbana Road, by Clark County sheriff’s deputies.

Authorities said Dillon fled the home and was found May 10 in Wisconsin with a truck reported stolen by his father.

Dillon was returned to Clark County for trial but was ordered by Common Pleas Judge Douglas Rastatter to undergo a psychological evaluation. The trial had been scheduled to begin Sept. 10.
