A man convicted of crimes in at least nine other instances is now facing charges again after police said he stole a package from a porch in Kettering, court records show.

Dustin Brodnick, 35, is facing a charge of petty theft after police said he was recognized on surveillance video as being the suspect accused of stealing the package Feb. 27 from a house in the 2900 block of East Rahn Road.

Another package theft was captured on video in the 4800 block of Arrowhead Drive on Feb. 27, however police said that incident is still under investigation and no one has been charged in that case.

Brodnick also is charged in a case involving criminal trespassing the day after the package theft incident, court records show.

Centerville police responded to the Costco store at the Cornerstone of Centerville on Feb. 28 around 8 p.m. after receiving a report of a theft in progress at the store, court records read.

“Brodnick exited through the emergency exit door and ran to the Kroger...as Costco employees chased after him,” court documents read.

Brodnick then is accused of running into the Kroger and through a door marked for employees only and out the back of the grocery store.

He was caught in the parking lot by Centerville police.

Several days later, on March 1, Brodnick was caught for a separate incident in which he now faces a drug related charge.

Police said Brodnick “did knowingly possess a...syringe used to ingest drugs,” according to court records.

Brodnick has been convicted in at least nine different cases since 2002, including convictions for burglary, robbery and drug charges, according to online records.

Brodnick is not in custody.
