“After careful consideration and extensive analysis of the financial impact, we believe it is best to minimize or eliminate as many expenses as possible,” according to a post to the restaurant’s Facebook page Monday.

Many restaurants in the Miami Valley began offering carry-out and even delivery options despite slower sales.

Archer’s Tavern explains that the cost to stay open is not financially worthwhile for the company.

“Remaining open requires tremendous amounts of electricity, gas consumption for cooking equipment, trash removal, payroll expenses, supplies like carryout boxes, cups, bags, and labor are just a few,” according to the post.

The post also announced that the company is committed to feed any of the children and families of its team who are struggling during this time. The company also pledged to donate perishable food items to their employees to take home.

Many local patrons on Facebook offered their support to the staff.

It’s not known how long the restaurants will be closed.
