If you see Christmas lights on some homes this spring, it's not a sign of forgetfulness or laziness. It's a sign of  positivity to cut through the gloom of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Davern house in Tipp City is an example of a family intent on spreading cheer.

"Christmas lights just happen to be my hobby," James Davern told News Center 7's Ronnell Hunt on Monday night.

"We were just kind of brain storming and wanted to come up with a way that we could share light to the community during this time, and it turns out it's a literal light we can share with the community."

James said he has been through a lot in his life and he wants his neighbors of one year to know there is hope.

Lindsey Davern said, "we want everyone to know we are here for them and we are all in this together as a community."
