The site of a former gas station will be the site of leg pumping this winter if all goes as planned.

Oakwood resident Kari Carpenter plans to open RINSE CYCLE DAYTON at 760 S. Patterson Blvd. near downtown Dayton.

“It’s a really good fit because it is really community-based,” Carpenter said of her cycling studio, a first of its kind. “We ride as one. We ride together.”

Her business is currently in a temporary space at 124 E. Third Street in the Fire Block District.

Carpenter hopes to open in the new location sometime in January 2018.

Happy Monday everyone! Lots of things happening today - get after it! Since we can't ride today, join me tonight at Riverscape downtown for the GO W/ THE FLOW bike week kick off yoga class at 6pm. It's free and a beautiful day, so really no reason not to come! #gowtheflow #bikeweek #elevatedyt

The business’ site last held a full-service Shell gas station.

Carpenter has partnered with DENT Logistics, developer of the nearby Old Scratch Pizza Property, on the feel of the property.

Some of the elements from the gas station such as large garage windows will be used in the cycling gym to pay homage to its prior use, the 2009 Cedarville University graduate said.

RINSE CYCLE is believed to be Dayton’s only dedicated Real Ryder Bike studio.

Carpenter, a freelance graphic artist orginally from Cincinnati, says rides offer a high energy cardiovascular workout and full body toning set to music.

“It’s a very cool, structured designed experience,” she said. “At the end it’s almost like a moving medication.”
