Ten people were hired for the branch, which opened Monday, increasing the number of employees from eight to 18, said Randy Rattman, chief executive officer. The main office is at 309 Court St.
The grand opening celebration will feature a live broadcast from The Rebel, 105.9 FM, free food, gifts, prizes and a money booth.
Kari Shaw, the branch manager, says the location includes a drive-through window and safe deposit boxes. The branch will have extended hours on Friday and Saturday.
AllWealth has 2,700 members. Membership has grown by 30 percent in two years, Rattman said.
He attributes the gains to word-of-mouth and lower costs because it’s a nonproft.
“I think people are having a renewed interest in credit unions,” said Patrick Harris, a spokesman for Ohio Credit Union League.
Ohio credit unions added 9,000 members from June last year to June of this year, Harris said, largely because credit unions are considered safer and the recession has created a strong anti-banking sentiment among consumers, he said. AllWealth purchased the property from Fifth Third Bank at a discount last year. Renovations started in February, Rattman said.
More branches are being considered in Butler County outside Hamilton.
“We’re hoping this is going to be a jumping point,” Shaw said.
