Arson suspected in back-to-back fires at vacant Harrison Twp. business

UPDATE @ 6:45 a.m: Fires that occurred at a vacant business on Needmore Road one day after each other, are being invested as arson, officials said in a release.

Crews were dispatched to the 2100 block and found massive flames shooting through the roof of the structure around 5:15 a.m., per initial reports.

When firefighters responded to the same address Tuesday morning, the minor fire was able to be put out with a fire extinguisher.

Both fires are suspected of being arson and will be investigated as such by the State Fire Marshal, according to the Harrison Twp. Fire Chief.

Our crews on scene say firefighters are still battling smoke and flames nearly two hours after the blaze was first reported.

Harrison Twp., Butler Twp., and Vandalia fire departments responded to the scene.

Needmore Road is blocked near North Dixie Drive and is expected to be closed for a while.
