Smoke detectors allowed fast response to Miami Twp house fire

UPDATE @ 3:08 p.m.

Lt. Tim Shafer of the Miami Valley Fire District informed that a fire at a Miami Township house Monday afternoon caused around $5000 worth of damage. Shafer reports the cause of the fire is still under investigation but natural gas could have been one of the factors in the fire. The family that lived in the house will most likely not be displaced and working smoke detectors are credited with allowing firefighters to have a fast response.
