Man arrested following indictment in Greenville shooting

UPDATE @ 1:44 p.m. (Aug. 2):

An 18-year-old is in the Darke County Jail after he was indicted on charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence following a shooting where a girl was injured in June.

Ryan Monahan was arrested Tuesday night and is being held without bond, according to jail records.

UPDATE @ 1:20 p.m. (June 12) 

Greenville police continue to investigate a shots fired incident that occurred on Friday night, with one female suffering a non-life threatening injury.

Police said they responded to the 6800 block of Ohio 49 on June 9 after receiving reports of shots fired in the area, according to a media release.

The investigation found one juvenile female was ‘struck by a bullet’ and suffered a non-life threatening injury. Family members previously told our news partners at The Early Bird the female suffered a graze wound from the bullet.

Police did not indicate if they have identified any suspects or have made any arrests.

UPDATE @ 9:35 p.m. (June 10)

Our partners at The Early Bird report the shooting victim’s family said she was grazed by the bullet fired around 10:20 p.m. Friday in the 6800 block of Ohio 49 near the softball diamonds.

The gunshot victim was taken to an area hospital and will be OK, the family told BlueBag Media.

Greenville police have not responded to numerous attempts today to learn more information, but a dispatcher said the investigation is ongoing.

It’s not clear whether police have made an arrest, and no suspect information has been released.

FIRST REPORT

Crews were called tonight to a report of a shooting in Greenville.

The shooting was reported around 10:20 p.m. in the 6800 block of Ohio 49 near the softball diamonds.

Ohio 49 is shut down in both directions in the area.

The Greenville Police Department dispatch said no further information was available.

According to initial reports, a CareFlight medical helicopter was requested but later was canceled.
