Vehicle slams into Coldwater house, driver and occupant inside home hurt

UPDATE @ 4:47 p.m.:

A vehicle smashed into a home on West Walnut Street in Coldwater, leading to both the driver and one of the occupants of the house being injured, according to investigators.

John Wenning, 59, was driving in the area when police believe he suffered a medical condition. Wenning drove through several stop signs and through a yard before striking the house in the 300 block of West Walnut, according to Coldwater Police Chief Jason Miller.

Miller said there were four people inside the home, and one of those people became trapped under the debris.

Sharon Zizleman, 77, was rescued from under the debris and taken to the hospital.

The other three people in the house were not injured, Miller said.

Zizleman and Wenning’s injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Emergency crews have responded to reports of a vehicle that crashed into a house in Coldwater, according to dispatchers.

The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. in the 300 block of West Walnut Street, according to initial reports.

The crash reportedly trapped one person inside the house, initial reports indicate. However, dispatchers could not confirm those reports, or if there were any injuries in the incident.
