Grease fire temporarily closes Miamisburg’s Burger King

UPDATE @ 8:09 a.m.

Burger King on Central Avenue in Miamisburg is temporarily closed this morning after a grease fire erupted in the kitchen’s hood ventilation system.

The building was evacuated but there were no injuries.

The health department has been notified about the fire, which a Miami Valley Fire District crew was able to knock down before flames spread into the attic of the restaurant.

A fire official tells us the restaurant will be closed but is expected to reopen later today after some cleaning.

Some food was lost in the incident. A damage estimate was not immediately available.

Crews in Miamisburg are responding to a reported fire at Burger King, 1244 E. Central Ave.

A fire was reported in the kitchen at approximately 7:15 a.m.
