Early morning house fire in Dayton considered suspicious, officials say

UPDATE @ 2:20 a.m: A fire that occurred at a vacant house on Kinnard Avenue Friday morning is considered suspicious, fire officials confirm.

Crews were dispatched to the 50 block and found a working fire coming from the structure just after 1 a.m., per initial reports.

In a 911 call obtained by this news organization, the caller informs dispatchers about the burning home.

“There’s a white house on the corner that’s on fire”, said the caller.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire once they arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.

Damage estimates were not immediately available, though the side of the house suffered significant damage as a result of the blaze.

The fire remains under investigation.
