Fire destroys 2-story barn in Greenville, officials investigating

UPDATE @ 4 a.m: Officials are investigating after a fire destroyed an unoccupied barn on Green Street in Greeneville early Monday morning.

LOCAL BREAKING: Medical helicopter called to reported stabbing in Springfield 

The barn was fully involved when crews arrived on scene in the 200 block of Green Street around 1:25 a.m.

Several other nearby structures were exposed to the fire, officials said, although none was affected.

The cost of the damage was not immediately available, but the barn is a total loss, firefighters said.

There were no injuries reported.

The incident was dispatched as fully involved around 1:25 a.m., per initial reports.

Mutual aid has also reportedly been requested from nearby fire crews.
