There were no injuries, as crews made quick work to get all occupants out of the building, the fire captain said.
Crews arrived on scene to heavy smoke and flame coming from the eastern side of the building.
The fire effected primarily one unit in the second story of the building.
Both West Elkton and Camden Fire departments assisted with the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and damage assessments are being made.

Crews are responding to an apartment fire reported in to our station around 4:45 p.m. on South East Street in Gratis.
WHIO is working to learn the condition of its residents and the cause of the fire.
