Crocodile Louie's is subject of lawsuit

Crocodile Louie's Cajun restaurant and sports bar at 4139 Wilmington Pike has been closed for more than a week and is the subject of a lawsuit in Kettering Municipal Court.

A hand-lettered sign dated April 16 and taped to the inside of the restaurant's front door says it is "temporarily closed due to a plumbing issue."

But on Tuesday, a second document - a photocopy of a "Writ of Execution, Levy on Property" from a Kettering Municipal Court lawsuit filed against Crocodile Louie's that resulted in a $6,590 judgment against the restaurant - was also taped to the inside of the door, and was previously posted on the bar's back door as well.

Court documents in the case suggest that the business was padlocked sometime before April 18 by a court bailiff in order to satisfy the civil judgment against the restaurant, which has risen to $7,523 because of fees and interest.

Phone messages left Monday and Tuesday with the restaurant's owner have not been returned.

Crocodile Louie's was formerly All-Starts Sports and Wings but transitioned to a Cajun restaurant 13 months ago.

At the time, owner Todd Hicks said the new Crocodile Louie's would not abandon its sports bar concept entirely but would focus on its newly expanded menu of Cajun and Creole dishes and seek to become a destination restaurant. Hicks said he changed the name of his sports bar and tweaked the concept in response to customers' desire "for something more, something else besides pizza, wings and burgers."
