Dayton hit its 3rd heat wave of the summer this week

In the Miami Valley, a heat wave is classified as three consecutive days or more at or above 90 degrees, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini. So far this year, Dayton has had 18 90-degree days.

August 26, 27 and 28, Dayton hit 90 degrees making it the third heat wave of the summer. June 16 through June 18 and June 30 through July 2 were both small heat waves earlier this year.

Dayton also tied three records this week for the very warm nights we experienced. August 26, 27 and 28 the overnight temperatures never dropped below the low 70s which tied the previous records for warmest low temperature.
