Dayton RTA reroutes to service high school students and community

RTA will be adjusting bus service to meet the needs of more Dayton Public Schools high school students beginning Feb. 16.

Additional services to Thurgood Marshall and Meadowdale high schools are being added along Salem Avenue.

An additional service was added to Pointz Career Technology Center at Greenwich Village and Dayton View Triangle.

One bus was eliminated from Greenwich Village to Meadowdale, Fifth Street and Burkhardt Avenue to Belmont High School, and Xenia Avenue and Patterson Avenue to Thurgood Marshall due to low ridership.

Routes 1, 2 and 4 are now serving Roberts Drive, Fifth Street, and Edwin C. Moses Boulevard due to the closure of the Third Street Bridge. Trip times will be adjusted by an additional 1-2 minutes.

Route 8 will once again take Main Street, Riverview Avenue, and Salem Avenue for both inbound and outbound trips.

The Route 8 6:30 a.m. southbound trip from Arlene Avenue and Free Pike will be eliminated.

Route 43 will add additional service to the Crocs distribution center on Union Airpark Road.

Service will also extend to the Innovative Plastic Molders facility off Webster Street.

The northbound weekday 5:02 p.m. trip will now serve Crossroads Court and Falls Creek via Peters Pike.

X1A and X1B service will return to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

:A fourth bus will be added to The Flyer's Saturday service to assist with increasing passenger loads.
