Jacob C. Francisco, 20, communicated with two teenage girls he believed were 15 and 13 through a social media site, Capt. Tom Pullins of the Randolph County, Indiana Sheriff’s Department said in a media release. The teens in reality were investigators with the sheriff’s office, Pullins said.

Francisco traveled Tuesday to Randolph County, where deputies arrested him on multiple charges connected to attempting to engage in sexual acts with minors, investigators said.

“Randolph County has previously investigated a dangerous trend where minors are meeting people online and then meeting up with them in person,” Pullins said in the release. “The sheriff's department decided to take a proactive approach to enforcing laws on those adults who were trying to take advantage of minors in the community.”

Francisco remains booked in the Randolph County Jail on initial charges of attempted child solicitation, attempted child molestation, attempted child exploitation, attempted sexual misconduct with a child and attempted vicarious sexual gratification, investigators said.
