Doctor to speak on autism

Dr. Philip DeMio, a biomedical physician and parent of a child with autism, is scheduled to speak from 10 a.m-noon, Saturday, Aug 3, at the Miami Valley Hospital South Conference Center, 2400 Miami Valley Dr. DeMio, also the founder and executive director of The American Medical Autism Board, focuses on the medical testing and treatment for those living with autism.

Autism is medical not mental and therefore is treatable, according to DeMio. His goals of treatment are relief of symptoms, restoration of health and maximizing cognitive function and independence.
