Ducklings rescued by passers-by outside Fifth Third Field

A group of ducklings was rescued Wednesday night from a fountain outside Fifth Third Field by passers-by.

The cries of the ducklings attracted the attention of people who were leaving the Dayton Dragons game.

The mother was in an elevated section of the fountain that the ducklings couldn't reach. They were stuck in a part of the water canals they couldn't escape.

The quick-thinking citizens used baseball caps to retrieve some of the babies.

The rescuers helped corral the ducklings to a spot where they were scooped up and reunited with their mother.
Mom and her babies waddled away to put a happy ending on this duck tale.
