The cold brew is prepared by steeping a special blend of coffee in cold water over time to extract a full-bodied flavor from the beans. Drink it black or add in flavors, Dunkin’ says iced coffee drinkers will love the new option. It will be available in small, medium and large large sizes.
“Our new cold brew coffee is made daily in small batches and the longer brewing process extracts the flavors differently than our famous iced coffee, providing our guests a rich, smooth coffee with an inherently sweeter flavor reminiscent of dark chocolate,” said Chris Fuqua, senior vice president of marketing, in a statement.
In a release, Dunkin’ Donut officials said the cold brew is already available in markets like Los Angeles and New York City.
In February, a local business owner announced the openings of two more Dunkin' Donuts in the area. The franchise owner for Dayton-area Dunkin' Donuts stores confirmed the locations of the franchisee's fifth and sixth local shops — and promised that more locations are on the way.
The fifth Dunkin’ Donuts to open is located in the 1300 block of Woodman Drive/Wright Bros. Parkway, just south of Linden Avenue in Riverside, franchise owner Pat Gilligan said this morning. The project has received preliminary approval by Riverside city officials, and construction will begin this spring, with projected opening in the fall, Gilligan said.
The sixth Dayton/Springfield-area location for the coffee-and-breakfast chain’s local franchisee is planned for 40 E. National Road in Vandalia, Gilligan said. The project still requires rezoning approval by Vandalia officials, he said.
