State troopers arrested two men after seizing more than $16,000 worth of pills and marijuana during a traffic stop, state troopers said.

Troopers stopped Timothy Massey, 27, of Louisville, on I-75 south at the Ohio 29 exit for speeding, according to court records.

Troopers approached the vehicle on the passenger side.

“I asked them politely to lower the window down further as I could already smell the odor of raw marijuana from the vehicle,” troopers wrote in court records.

Troopers found approximately 1,000 Ecstasy pills bagged in bags of 100 inside the car, court records read. Approximately 60 grams of marijuana also was found in the vehicle.

Massey had a felony warrant for marijuana possession out of Indiana, court records read.

Massey is currently in the Shelby County Jail on a felony drug charge and felony possession of criminal tools charge.

The passenger, Kordell Travis, 26, of Louisville, was arrested on charges of felony possession of criminal tools and drug abuse.
