Judge Stephen Wolaver last week sentenced Dakota Lacey to 10 years in prison for first-degree rape, and five years each for the third-degree felonies of gross sexual imposition and importuning, according to records with Greene County Common Pleas Court. The sentences will be served concurrently, and Wolaver granted Lacey 306 days credit for time served.

Lacey was convicted by a jury after a two-day trial in September. He was arrested in February and has been jailed since.
Investigators said the crime happened last December when the victim, who was 12 at the time, was staying with Lacey temporarily after her father had died.
Lacey is now considered a Tier III sex offender, which requires that he register with the local sheriff’s office every 90 days for the rest of his life.
