Easterday, 18, is charged with attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault, with gun specifications on both charges, after shooting Sgt. Billy Titley at Easterday’s Archer Drive house.
Titley, a 21-year veteran of the department, responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex earlier in the day on April 2, and was following up at the suspect’s last known address when he was shot, according to police.

Just before midnight, Fairborn police put out a call for all available officers in the area to respond when the suspect refused to come out of the house.
About 2:30 a.m. police shot tear gas into the home, and entered about 5 a.m., taking the suspect into custody.
Authorities surrounded the house for more than seven hours.
Easterday reportedly fired a single round from an upstairs window as officers approached the home, striking Titley.
Titley was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment, but has since been released and is recovering.
Easterday, who made his first court appearance last Wednesday, is being held in Fairborn City Jail on a $750,000 bond.
